Ett karaftpaket med oerhörd elegans från den fantastiska årgången 2007. Har samsas 75% Grenache med 25% Syrah. Fullt med svarta vinbär, viol och körsbär i en örtig och kryddig stil. Gott idag och 10 år framöver.
Producent
Domaine le Sang des Cailloux beskrivs ofta som en av de främsta producenterna i området som är en 16 ha stor egendom vid Vacqueyras. Serge Férigoule, som idag äger egendomen började här 1979 som vingårdsarbetare. 1982 fick han möjlighet att ta över när den tidigare ägaren gick i pension. 1990 köpte han gården.

The prodigious 2007 Vacqueyras Cuvee de Lopy is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah from the estate’s oldest vines, my notes begin with the words “great stuff!” An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by notes of smoked herbs, meat juices, creme de cassis, and kirsch notes offered in this exceptionally powerful and rich as well as beautifully balanced wine. A cascade of black fruits and herbs rolls over the palate with a silkiness and profoundness that are almost unreal for a Vacqueyras. This is a serious effort in a great vintage. I would not be surprised to see it improve for 2-3 years, and drink beautifully for 12-15. (94p)
One of the top estates of Vacqueyras is Domaine Les Sang des Cailloux. Both 2008 cuvees performed well for the vintage, but they have to take a back seat to what this domaine accomplished in 2007.
